The Maze Runner Trilogy - James Dashner

The Maze runner trilogy… well what can I say about it, that hasn’t already been said?

I got so sucked into these books it’s unreal. I read The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure in the space of about three days. For a slow reader like me, that’s pretty impressive.  I was just so drawn into these books I had to read them. The thing that made me buy and read these books is the fact that the cover said that if you were a fan of the hunger games you should read these books. So I thought you know what I will. I wasn’t disappointed.

The way the book is written is very easy, not to confusing. Except the flashbacks they can be confusing but they soon add up the further you get. It is written very well, but then I do enjoy books that are written in the third person. It gives the story the opportunity to show how other people are feeling and can help give more description about how people look or what the area they are in looks like. I enjoy having all the details. James Dashner is a very good writer and I enjoyed the detail of his books.

Being able to connect with the characters is a strong perk of reading a book, as I read these books relating to how Thomas feels throughout the story was easy as it was a rational reaction to what is going on in his life and what I would do in a situation like that. It just shows that trust is a very big thing in life and when someone whacks you over the head with a bat and locks you in a room you lose trust in people. Being able to see the change in the relationship of Thomas and Teresa throughout the books just improved the story line. Showing that just because you are away from someone does not mean you don’t miss them and think about them but when they betray you feelings change. So naming Teresa as The Betrayer was well fitted.

I think my favorite character has to be Newt. I felt like he was so genuine and caring for his friends. Seeing Newt deteriorate was heart breaking, reading him beg to be killed was just so sad. Newt being the glue was also very fitted to his personality as he did hold the group together and helped when ever he needed to.

I don’t know what it is about Brenda but there is  something I really like about her. Maybe it’s the fact that she does look out for Thomas from the beginning and makes sure he is okay even if she is mad at him. She’s just a caring person and that’s nice to see especially in the circumstances of the book.

(spoiler) I think the biggest  shocker of all in The Death Cure has the be the fact that Gally is still alive, like seriously why? It was hilarious hearing what happened to him once he was taken back the WICKED’s headquarters though.  Biting the legs of tables and chairs, and running around the compound naked like a mad person. I could not stop laughing. Just imagining it in my head was just to funny. But then Teresa getting squished by the roof was also a BIG shocker. I was not expecting that to happen. I really wasn’t. She wasn’t my favorite character but I have to admit I was so shocked I stopped reading for a few hours. I thought she would stay alive and try to get Thomas to love her again. But wow did not expect  it.

The end is a big thing for me, I’m the kind of person who has a lot of questions at the end of a book. Some of the questions that have been buzzing around in my mind are
1.       Do Brenda and Thomas get together?
2.       Do the survivors build little huts to live in?
3.        Does Jorge find someone to spend the rest of his live with?
4.       Do they ever meet Councillor Paige?
5.       Does Thomas and Mihino get his memory back?
6.       Does Mihino find out about Newt?
7.       Do the survivors get any survival packages? (containing things like soap, blankets, clothes etc.)

So really, I just want to know what happens to them next. How does their new lives pan out? To know this would just be amazing. I need more of this story. I want to know the answers. Hopefully this will not drive me too crazy.

All of this has probably already been said but oh well.

Benefit Cosmetics Collection And Wishlist

Hey Guys, so benefit! I thought it was about time I shared with you one of my obsessions which happens to be benefit cosmetics. Their products are amazingly great quality and unfortunately a bit pricy so saving is pretty much all I do so I can get the new out coming products.

First of all I wanted to show you my collection then I thought I would share my benefit wish list with you.

So here we go - my collection.

The first thing I ever got from benefit was brow zings brow kit in light. This is a very important product for me because I used to have non-existent eyebrows where as a child I had very fair hair. This kit comes with a dark brown gel for shaping and a powder light brown for filling and two brushes, which are a blending brush and a hard angle brush. A tiny pare of tweezers also came with it, which I think is adorable.

Then next product is Hervana, which is a blush. It is an absolutely beautiful colour and has a great spiral pattern inside. It also came with an angled blush brush, which is very handy.

As many girls do I have the porefessional. This is such a great product. I can’t go a day without using it.

Then I have the ultra plush lip gloss in the shade A-lister. Which I actually got as a free gift when I ordered some products off of the benefit  website. The colour in the image is not the colour i have, the one i have us more nude than pink.

The next is hello flawless oxygen wow foundation in “I’m pure 4 sure” ivory which I haven’t used much of because im not a big foundation fan but it is always good to have one just in case.

And last of all cosmetic wise I have watts up! Highlighter. I think the packaging on this is amazing.

Last of all and another free gift I was sent a beautiful make up bag for benefit which I think Is amazing I love the design and the materials used in the makeup bag. It is my ideal makeup bag. Unfortunatly I can't find an image of the bag to show as i have lost my camera charger but i will try and show you it some other time.

My wish list.

Ever since it came out, I have been hearing good things about the big easy which is a multi-balancing complexion perfector.

And I want to purchase the new coming they’re real push-up liner. This product looks amazing and so easy to use I cannot wait for it to be released.

Okay so that is it guys.

I couldn’t find my camera charger so sorry for the google images.

Thanks for reading.

April Book Haul

Hey guys, so today I have a book haul for you. Lately I don’t know what has gotten into me I have just been going book crazy and buying loads of books. I probably will not be able to read some of them for a while.

As I volunteer in a charity shop I get to see a lot of books come in and we can pick out the ones we want to buy, so obviously that’s what happened (seriously they should not let me work on the shop floor, I pretty much always find something to buy).

The first book I got from the shop was you had me at hello by Mhairi Mcfarlane. I have heard so many people talk about this book that when I saw it I just had to get it.

The next book is called The family way by Tony Parson, which was recommended to me by the manager at the shop.

The I picked up Matched by Ally Condle. I have wanted to read this book for the longest of time but I have never actually picked it up and bought it, until now.

Then I got Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. I thought this booked sounded very interesting and I like the design of the cover.

The last book in bought in the shop was the lovely bones by Alice Sebold. I have been meaning to read this book for years. One of my friends was obsessed with it when we were in school and she wanted me to read it but I never did.

The next books are from W H Smiths, first of all I finally got Divergent by Veronica Roth.

I also picked up The shock of the fall by Nathan Filer. I absolutely love the cover of this book.

I also picked up Thirteen by Tom Hoyle. This grabbed by attention because all it said on the bad was “they are dying one by one.” So intriguing.

The last book from this shop was Angel by L. A. Weatherly.

I also got on kindle books for when I am travelling and they are Sweet Temptation by Lucy Diamond, This is what happy looks like by Jennifer E. Smith, the truth about forever by Sarah Dessen and lastly Dark heart surrender by Lee Monroe.

On my good reads account I also won a book called The rental heart and other fairy tales by Kirsty Logan, which I can’t wait to read.

So yeah thats quite a few books I have got to get through. I did not buy all of these books in one day they have been collected throughout the month.

Thanks for reading.
